Perfect Fried Chicken

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 whole frying chicken, cut into pieces (or the equivalent of pieces of your choice)
  • oil (for frying)
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon accent seasoning
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon accent seasoning

Recipe

  • 1 try to use a deep fryer if you have one- heat the oil to 350 degrees.
  • 2 combine the water, tablespoon of salt and 1/2 t accent.
  • 3 put the chicken into this marinade and let sit for 30 minutes (or longer if you start early).
  • 4 in one bowl, combine the egg and milk.
  • 5 in another bowl, combine the flour, 2 1/2 t salt, pepper and 3/4 t accent.
  • 6 coat the chicken in the flour mixture, dip in the egg mixture, then coat again in the flour mixture.
  • 7 drop the pieces about 3-4 at a time into the hot oil and fry for about 12 minutes.
