My Homemade Fresh Herb Stuffing..simon And Garfunkel Style

Total Time: 4 hrs 25 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 4 hrs

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 medium onions, chopped
  • 4 celery ribs, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 loaf stale low-fat sourdough bread, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 cups fat-free chicken broth

Recipe

  • 1 saute onions and celery in butter in a non-stick skillet until transparent.
  • 2 remove from heat, and stir in fresh herbs, and seasonings.
  • 3 place bread cubes in a large bowl. add onion/herb mixture, add enough broth to moisten.
  • 4 mix well, but gently, turn into a greased slow cooker.
  • 5 cover, cook on high for 1 hour, reduce heat to low, and continue cooking for 3-4 hours.
