My Homemade Fresh Herb Stuffing..simon And Garfunkel Style

Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 medium onions, chopped
- 4 celery ribs, chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
- 1 tablespoon fresh sage
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 1 loaf stale low-fat sourdough bread, cut into 1 inch cubes
- 2 cups fat-free chicken broth
Recipe
- 1 saute onions and celery in butter in a non-stick skillet until transparent.
- 2 remove from heat, and stir in fresh herbs, and seasonings.
- 3 place bread cubes in a large bowl. add onion/herb mixture, add enough broth to moisten.
- 4 mix well, but gently, turn into a greased slow cooker.
- 5 cover, cook on high for 1 hour, reduce heat to low, and continue cooking for 3-4 hours.
