Marsha's Chicken And Dumplings

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 4 cups of cubed cooked chicken
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans chicken broth
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups uncooked carrots
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder or 2 teaspoons chopped onions
  • 1 tablespoon basil
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 (16 ounce) can peas
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 16 dumplings

Recipe

  • 1 in dutch oven combine the first ten ingredients.
  • 2 heat to a boil then reduce to simmer.
  • 3 simmer until carrots are tender, about one hour.
  • 4 add peas.
  • 5 in small sauce pan make rue with butter and flour.
  • 6 add rue to chicken mix.
  • 7 add and cook dumplings according to directions.
  • 8 i recommend dumplings for the dumplings.
