Paper-wrapped Chicken

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 chicken, cut into 12 pieces
  • cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon light soya sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons dark soya sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine
  • 1 tablespoon ginger juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Recipe

  • 1 get grease-proof paper and cut into 18cm by 18cm 12 square pieces of papers.
  • 2 marinate the chicken pieces with seasoning 1 for 15 minutes.
  • 3 brush 1 side of the each paper with oil.
  • 4 place a piece of chicken at one corner of the paper.
  • 5 fold up this corner to cover the chicken.
  • 6 then fold the sides to cover the chicken as well.
  • 7 fold the remaining corner down and tuck into the pocket to make a package.
  • 8 repeat for the rest of the chicken pieces.
  • 9 heat oil in a saucepan for deep-frying.
  • 10 when the oil is hot, reduce the heat to medium-low.
  • 11 place in the packages and fry for about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • 12 remove and drain the packages off excess oil.
  • 13 serve hot.
  • 14 the packages are to be open by the diners themselves.
