Lexington-style Grilled Chicken

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 2 cups cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons dry crushed red pepper
  • 4 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons pepper
  • 5 lbs chicken thighs, skinless bone-in

Recipe

  • 1 stir together first 6 ingredients until blended.
  • 2 divide vinegar mixture and chicken between 2 large zip-top plastic freezer bags, and seal bags. chill 2 to 8 hours, turning bags occasionally.
  • 3 preheat grill to 350° to 400° (medium-high) heat. remove chicken from marinade, discarding marinade.
  • 4 grill chicken, covered with grill lid, 35 to 40 minutes or until done, turning occasionally. ** i turn off the two center burners for the last 15 mins or so.
